Always an artist at heart, Christy knew early on that she wanted a career in the Arts. She attended Alberta University of Arts and Mount Royal University, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Interior Design. No stranger to home décor, Christy works part-time at Calgary-based interior design and decorating firm ANA Interiors.

No stranger to home décor, Christy works part-time at Calgary-based interior design and decorating firm ANA Interiors.
When she's not working, Christy and her husband are busy with their three children and their Nanton home full of soft, furry and scaly pets. A self-professed "Crazy Cat Lady," Christy's love for animals is seen throughout her artwork. She also creates various abstract and contemporary art pieces in her studio at home, using some of her favourite mediums, chalk pastel, recycled Styrofoam, plaster and acrylic paints on canvas.

For over 25 years, Homes by Avi has partnered with the Calgary Stampede to build the Dream Home. Each year the Dream Home hosts more than 100,000 visitors from around the world throughout the 10-day Calgary Stampede, offering unique exposure to our featured artist.

This year’s home comprises a natural style moderne concept. This style combines modern design with the elegance and warmth of traditional materials to create a comfortable, natural feel. Imagine bright white and cream walls paired with hardwood accents, furniture, textures and accessories and Christy’s artwork.

The winner must be able to produce or supply 30 to 40 pieces in varying sizes two weeks prior to the start of the Calgary Stampede.
